Welcome to the Premier Periclase website

Premier Periclase is currently developing plans for the proposed redevelopment of our manufacturing facility in Drogheda into a mixed-use sustainably powered enterprise campus with a path to net zero emissions which has the potential to transform the way large energy users operate in Ireland.

The site offers a unique opportunity for a highly innovative grey-to-green development, ending the site’s current operations. Instead, it will leverage the site’s existing infrastructure and strategic location to pioneer a new sustainable industrial model.

The redevelopment plan includes demolition and remediation, substantial upgrades to the site infrastructure, and the integration of renewable energy sources and advanced energy storage and generation systems. This new infrastructure line-up will be able to accommodate large energy users such as hi-tech and digital infrastructure on the electrical side and industries such as food, beverage, horticulture, biopharma and sustainable manufacturing on the thermal side, making it very attractive to large foreign direct investment and Irish projects.

A planning application for a first phase of the proposed new development, to establish the sustainable energy and digital infrastructure, will shortly be submitted to the local authority, Louth County Council. The ambition over the next ten years is a big one – to establish a unique campus in the Irish context that enables large energy users to operate in a real-time decarbonised energy environment. This could ultimately involve an investment of between €600m and €1bn.

A display giving further detail, alongside the opportunity to talk to project team members will be hosted on site at Premier Periclase shortly and we will be advertising these open days locally.
